Frank R. Burns, M.D.

My name is Dr. Frank R. Burns. I am an ophthalmologist, eye physician, and surgeon specializing in the care and treatment of your eyes. I am proud to provide you and your family with the finest medical and surgical eye care available.

I earned my medical degree in 1986 at the University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri, but I have lived in Louisville since that time. I completed an internship, residency, and two-year postdoctoral research fellowship in corneal disease at the University of Louisville in 1992 and I have been in private practice since then. I am certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. I am also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, and the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and I am a founding member of the Suburban Excimer Laser Center, PLLC.

I have treated many patients and their families since starting my practice, but the care I provide and the concern I have for my patients has never changed. I want you to keep and enjoy the best vision you can for the rest of your life.

Dr. Mark Jaggers

Dr. Burns is also pleased to introduce you to his new associate, Dr. Mark Jaggers.  Dr. Jaggers recently completed a residency in ophthalmology at the University of Louisville and he will be seeing general ophthalmology patients.  He was born and raised in Jefferstown, KY. He received his undergraduate degree from Purdue University in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering.  He spent several years as an officer and pilot in the United States Air Force before returning to receive his medical degree from the University of Louisville prior to completing his residency at U of L. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Jefferson County Medical Society, and Kentucky Medical Association. He is a dedicated eye care professional with a passion for his patients.
